Southwestern Anthropological Association

The Southwestern Anthropological Association (SWAA) is a regional association of academic and applied anthropologists and students. With its membership originally in the four founding southwestern states of California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico, we have expanded to include national and international members, and do research worldwide covering topics within social-cultural anthropology, linguistic anthropology, archaeology, biological anthropology, and applied anthropology in all fields. Our goals are to encourage innovative research and to promote public interest in all varieties of anthropological inquiry.
