Social profiles within the Collaborative Anthropology Network caters to anthropologists in both academic and applied fields and includes an About tab, a social activity feed, an optional blog, a hypothes.is-based annotations dashboard, a photo album,* videos, a document folder, and other information regarding the users activity across the social network. The social profiles of individuals on the Collaborative Anthropology Network are not publicly accessible for privacy concerns and searching for or viewing profiles require visitors to register before being able to access those features.**
The About tab in the social profiles is a professional biography that includes the users academic background, their research areas, interests, or specializations, professional affiliations, as well as other relevant information about scholarly outputs and professional experience. This information is meant to assist in identifying common interests and building connections to foster a community.
